Subject	6psi, because i took off boost sensor?

Message	my gauge cluster did not work when i first got my car. So i decided to switch gauges and throw in a boost gauge. Problem is i am only getting 6psi. Did a leak down test fixed a couple of small leaks, still only 6 psi. Then I learned about the boost solenoids. are they powered by the Boost sensor? (i deleted that) is that what probably has powered off the solenoids and running 6psi? any help would be appreciated!! thanks
